Wake Forest coach makes key save
Feb 8, 2011
In one of the more remarkable stories in the sports world, Wake Forest baseball coach Tom Walter has come up big for one of his Demon Deacon players. Walter donated a kidney to freshman Kevin Jordan. In a story in the Winston-Salem Journal, Jordan who has yet to play for the Wake baseball team saw his health turn for the worse his senior year of high school.
While this story seems destined for a Hollywood movie studio, the present has both coach and player doing well. The Demon Deacons open up the season on February 18th.

This shows true compassion between a mentor and his student. They will have a bond that will live forever. Kudos to the coach, and I hope the kid lives long and strong to make it to the bigs. Pay it forward should be the motto to this.RE: Wake Forest coach makes key save
I have no doubt that God's hand is in this. Too many coincidences. Family no match. Recruited by multiple schools and agencies but chose WF, and then WF coach IS a match and a willing donor. God's hand, I'm sure.RE: Wake Forest coach makes key save
This one made National news this morning. This coach is a hero--for sure. Not many could/would think of doing such a great act of kindness.RE: Wake Forest coach makes key save
I hope they got permission from the NCAA for this. I would hate to have a tremendous story ruined by an NCAA investigation for some sort of improper benefit.- Posted by jskinner23
At first I wanted to say LOL, but you may actually have a point there!
