O'Brien, Holt pair to tee it up in charity event
Aug 4, 2011
On Saturday, ESPN2 will air the 2011 Chic-fil-A Bowl Challenge charity golf tournament that was played in early May.
The $415,000 charity event pitted 11 university teams of head coaches and celebrity alumni. All the teams were ACC and SEC schools meaning the likes of Steve Spurrier, Frank Beamer, and Nick Saban were swinging, as were Sterling Sharpe, Gino Torretta and Dell Curry.
Representing NC State was Tom O'Brien and former wide receiver Torey Holt. Holt hosts his own golf tournament every year so you figure to like his chances. But looking at the results, these guys are all good. Ten of the 11 teams finish under par and the winners combine for 11-under.
SPOILER ALERT: The winner is an ACC school.
