Wake Forest safety Lowe dismissed from team

Duran Lowe, a senior free safety on the Wake Forest football team, has been dismissed from the team for a violation of university policy, the school confirmed Monday.
Lowe, a native of Plant City, Fla., has had a troubled last 10 months that have included two arrests.
He was most recently arrested in January in Pinellas County, Fla. by St. Petersburg police on a charge of felony aggravated assault. He pleaded not guilty in May and is due in court Monday for a pre-trial hearing.
To date, Lowe has paid $5,000 in restitution to the victim of January's assault, Kory Coleman.
Lowe was also arrested in in Winston-Salem in October along with teammate Devin Bolling at their off-campus apartment. Lowe was charged with felony possession with intent to sell and distribute marijuana and was suspended from the football team. He pleaded guilty to lesser misdemeanor possession charges in February.
Lowe played in 31 career games, recording 91 tackles and making one interception.
