— Dequesha McClanahan notched a triple-double Saturday as Winthrop handed Campbell an 82-56 loss in the teams' regular season finale. The 26-point loss was the largest margin of defeat suffered by the Lady Camels this season.

McClanahan led the field with 25 points, 11 rebounds, and 10 steals, guiding Winthrop (21-8, 15-5) to a second place tie in Big South standings, and the third seed in the league tournament.

Roslyn Presley and Kiera Gaines each scored 16 to lead the Lady Camels (18-11, 13-7), followed by Ashley James with 10, as Campbell wrapped up the fourth seed in the Big South Championship.

The Lady Camels turned the ball over 22 times, and the Eagles capitalized by scoring 27 points off turnovers. Winthrop only committed six turnovers, and CU failed to convert on any.

"Winthrop did a great job capitalizing on opportunities," head coach Wanda Watkins said. "Between that and turnovers, I think that was the difference in the game. They took really good care of the ball and I thought they played really well. I knew they were going to be ready to play and I thought we were a little careless in the beginning of the game."

Campbell grabbed the first bucket of the game off a James jumper 13 seconds after tipoff. The Eagles answered 16 seconds later and the Lady Camels never regained the lead.

CU suffered a six-minute drought without a field goal in the first half, and Winthrop took advantage of the opportunity with a 10-2 run to go up 32-17 with 3:32 to go before the break.

The first half ended 39-27 in favor of the Eagles. Campbell made 16-of-42 field goals, while Winthrop tallied 16-of-42 shots.

The Eagles' largest run came in the second half with 6:28 to go. Winthrop used a 14-0 sprint over 2:37 to jump to its largest lead, 80-54.

Gaines broke the scoreless streak for the Lady Camels with a jumper in the paint with 3:28 to go, but McClanahan answered with two free throws 19 seconds later.

Both teams failed to score the remaining 3:08 in the half, as Winthrop notched its 15th Big South win.
Campbell finished 22-of-56 (39,3 pct.) from the floor, while Winthrop was 29-for-77 (37.7 pct.). The Eagles out-rebounded the Lady Camels 49-36 and had the edge on assists, 15-14.

Campbell will open Big South Championship play on Thursday at the HTC Center in Conway, S.C.
