Jeremy Welsh was reassigned to the Charlotte Checkers following Friday night's win against Buffalo and will be eligible to play in Saturday's game against Abbotsford, the team announced.
The 24-year-old center appeared in one game for the Hurricanes this year, skating 5:46 of ice time during the team’s home opener against Tampa Bay. Welsh has 13 points (6g, 7a) in 39 games for Charlotte in this season.
Welsh has played two career NHL games with Carolina, one last season and the one this year.
The Hurricanes host the Boston Bruins Monday at 7 p.m. at PNC Arena
