Wet weather due to Tropical Storm Andrea has postponed North Carolina and NC State's super regional starts to Saturday.
UNC, South Carolina at Boshamer Stadium originally scheduled for a 1:05 p.m. start Friday, will now play a Saturday-Sunday-Monday series. The Tar Heels first game will be Saturday at 12:05 p.m. on ESPN. Sunday will remain a 1 p.m. start also on ESPN. Game three will be played Monday with start times and network to be determined if necessary.
NC State moved their game against Rice to Saturday at 4 p.m. The game will be televised on ESPN2. The Raleigh super regional was originally slated to start Friday at 4 p.m. and will now be a Saturday-Sunday-Monday series.
Andrea dumped nearly 4 inches of rain across parts of North Carolina on Friday, flooding local waterways and causing problems for drivers.
The storm is weakening, according to WRAL meteorologist Elizabeth Gardner, but tornado and flash flood watches are still in effect for parts of the state as the center of Andrea's storm crosses the state this afternoon.
Wake and other surrounding counties are under a flash flood watch until 6 p.m. A tornado watch has been issued for Edgecombe, Greene, Halifax, Wayne and Wilson counties until 1 p.m.
