The NC State women’s golf team successfully defended its title at the Sir Pizza Terrapin Challenge and sophomore Lindsay McGetrick, competing as an individual, captured medalist honors. The two-day, 54-hole event was held at the par-72, 6,278-yard Shula’s Golf Club.

NC State fired a three-round total of 10-over 874, including 4-under 284 in Tuesday’s closing round. The Pack was 12 strokes better than second place Florida International. The team crown was NC State’s 11th in program history and its fourth since 2011.

The Wolfpack swept the top three spots on the individual leader board. McGetrick set a 54-hole personal best with a three round tally of 4-under 212 in her first collegiate win. Her tournament total also ties her with Lauren Doughtie (2008 LSU/Cleveland Golf Classic) for the sixth best 54-hole mark in program history.
McGetrick carded under par rounds of 70-71-71.

Junior Brittany Marchand and sophomore Augusta James finished second and third, respectively, with Marchand shooting a 3-under 213 and James posting a 2-under 214. In Tuesday’s final round, Marchand posted a one-over 73 and James had a 2-under 70.

The NC State trio was the only group to finish the event under par.

Junior Ana Menendez finished tied for sixth with a 6-over 222 for the event, but was 3-under 69 for her final round.

Sophomore Vivian Tsui concluded the tournament tied for 12th at 9-over 225. Tsui shot an even par 72 to closeout the event.

Senior Amanda Baker was 9-over on the last day to finish tied 57th at 20-over 236.

Rounding out top five in the team standings were Miami in third (31-over 895), host Maryland in fourth (35 over 899) and East Tennessee State in fifth (45-over 909).
