With Liles, Faulk out, Canes recall Jordan

Posted March 10, 2014

The Carolina Hurricanes recalled defenseman Michal Jordan from the Charlotte Checkers Monday on an emergency basis.

Head coach Kirk Muller said that  defensemen John-Michael Liles and Justin Faulk will both be out again Tuesday against the New York Rangers, rendering Jordan's services necessary.

Liles missed the last game and Faulk has missed the last two, each with upper-body injuries.

Jordan, 23, has totaled three goals and 12 assists in 53 AHL games for Charlotte this season. Selected by the Hurricanes in the fourth round in 2008, Jordan made his NHL debut for Carolina last season and has appeared in five career games for the Hurricanes.

The Hurricanes host the New York Rangers at PNC Arena on Tuesday (7 p.m., 99.9 The Fan ESPN Radio).

I gave up my season tickets when the second coming of Maurice went on and on and on. I was ready to renew again when all sorts of things happened...glad now that I didn't. KT...don't blame them a bit. I keep watching, though, because I really like this team...hoping for the best.

Do you blame them? It's a matter of principle. Why should they pay NHL price for a minor league product?

I hope the Canes dump a ton of salary during the off-season. Start with the captain and go through the ranks cutting and slashing.

This area has proven that it will support a good team. Remember when the NHL called PNC the loudest arena in the league? Now the place is quiet due to the lousy effort put on display in the name of hockey.

Translation: hurricanes are going to get smoked against the Rangers.

Doesn't matter which guys they put out there...they won't be going to the playoffs. Might as well give the young ones a chance at the big time.
