Duke University redshirt sophomore Conner Hartmann etched his name in the Duke wrestling records book Friday night by becoming the second All-American in program history. Hartmann captured two wins during the evening session to guarantee a top-six finish and a spot on the podium.

Dukeโ€™s last All-American wrestler was Konrad Dudziak in 2010 when he finished fourth at heavyweight. Over the course of the two days in Okalhoma City, Hartmann upset the No. 10, No. 7 and No. 11 seeds.

Hartmann, after falling to No. 2 seed Jโ€™Den Cox in the championship quarterfinal in the afternoon session, rebounded in a big way with a dominant performance over Bonnacorsi. Already having beaten the Pittsburgh 197-pounder twice previously, Hartmann was outstanding on top in the second to secure two minutes of riding time.

Bonnacorsi optioned to start the third period to give Hartmann the first point of the match. The Port Orchard, Wash., native with riding time locked up added a takedown to earn the 4-0 win and All-America honors.

In his final match on Friday, Hartmann scored a takedown in overtime to stop No. 11 seed Nathan Burak of Iowa. Hartmann used a pair of escapes to force overtime with Burak where he scored a takedown with 30 seconds remaining in the sudden victory period.

Immanuel Kerr-Brown also opened the day against a seeded wrestler. Kerr-Brown battled hard against No. 13 seed Dylan Alton of Big Ten power Penn State, but could not come back from a big first period from Alton in a 5-2 loss.
Alton scored a takedown and three nearfall points to hand the redshirt junior his 13th loss of the season. Kerr-Brown finishes the year with a 26-12 mark and advanced to the NCAA Championships for the first time in his career.

Hartmann opens the final day of competition against No. 4 seed Scott Schiller. The winner advances to the third-place match.
