Riding a five-match unbeaten streak to improve to 8-6-4 on the season, the Duke women’s soccer team moved back into the national rankings on Tuesday as the Blue Devils were tabbed No. 25 in the latest Soccer America poll.

Duke closes the regular season Thursday, Oct. 31 at arch-rival North Carolina, who is currently ranked fourth nationally with a 15-3-0 overall and 9-3 ledger in the ACC.

Over the last five matches, Duke has registered road wins at Maryland and ninth-ranked Notre Dame, while also claiming home victories against N.C. State and Pittsburgh. The Blue Devils collected a 0-0 draw at Clemson during the stretch as well, while outscoring its opponents 11-5.

Duke junior Kelly Cobb has scored a team-best three goals over the hot streak and now owns a team-high six tallies on the year. Senior Laura Weinberg notched her 100th career point as she drained her 39th career goal on Sunday versus Pittsburgh. Redshirt junior goalkeeper Meghan Thomas has also given the Blue Devils a spark posting two shutouts and a 0.39 goals-against average as of late.

After scoring two goals and assisting on two others last week, senior Kaitlyn Kerr was named to the TopDrawerSoccer.com Team of the Week.

Kerr, who is out of Bensalem, Pa., was honored prior to the Pittsburgh match on Sunday for senior day and then sang the national anthem. Following the pregame festivities, the 5-5 midfielder scored two goals and assisted on one other in a span of under five minutes during the first half. Duke went on to down the Panthers, 6-3, behind six first half goals. In the 1-0 victory over N.C. State on Thursday, Kerr assisted on the lone goal as the Blue Devils have moved into contention for an ACC Tournament bid.
