WTEN: Carolina wins two matches on Wednesday

Chapel Hill, N.C. — No. 6 North Carolina cruised to a pair of wins on Wednesday over Norfolk State and East Carolina from the Cone-Kenfield Tennis Center.
The Tar Heels won 7-0 over Norfolk State and 6-0 over the Pirates.
Kate Vialle had an extremely successful day for North Carolina (8-2). She teamed with Laura Slater for a pair of doubles victories, and then lost only one point in winning two singles matches at #3 singles. She won 6-0, 6-1 over Norfolk State and then was the first to finish in singles against East Carolina with a 6-0, 6-0 victory.
Jamie Loeb. the No. 1 ranked singles player in the county, scored two more victories to run her record to 28-2 this season.
Tessa Lyons won both her matches at #4 singles, while Slater did the same at #6 singles.
North Carolina (8-2) opens ACC play on Friday at home against Boston College at 2 p.m.
