WTEN: Top seed Loeb Advances To National Indoor Finals

Flushing, N.Y. — Top seed Jamie Loeb moved into the finals of Main Draw Singles with a straight-set victory Saturday at the 2013 USTA/ITA National Indoor Intercollegiate Championship.
Sunday's 11:30 a.m., final pits the North Carolina freshman against second-seed Robin Anderson of UCLA in a rematch of the ITA/Riviera All-American final that Loeb won 6-4, 6-0, back in October in Pacific Palisades, Calif.
Loeb dominated preseason No.1 Sabrina Santamaria of Southern California to the tune of a 6-2, 6-0, victory on Saturday afternoon at the USTA-Billie Jean King National Tennis Center.
Neither Loeb or Anderson have dropped a single set in four matches thus far at the National Indoors.
Classmate and seventh-seed Hayley Carter also reached the semifinals on Saturday, but was upended by Anderson by the score of 7-5, 6-2.
In doubles, Carter and Loeb fell 8-4 to Auburn's Pleun Burgmans and Emily Flickinger in the consolation bracket semifinals.

North Carolina enjoyed another successful day during Saturday's competition at the Kitty Harrison Invitational by winning three-of-four singles matches.
Tessa Lyons, Caroline Price and Laura Slater all picked up singles wins today over South Carolina.
Lyons won 6-2, 6-2, over Alex Martin, Price brought home a 6-4, 6-1, over Meghan Belvins, and Slater won the first set 6-1, before Katie Fosnacht retired in the second set.
In doubles, Ashley Dai and Tessa Lyons breezed to an 8-1 victory over William & Mary.
Sunday's final day of the event begins with singles play at 9 a.m.
