WTEN: UNC tennis ranked third nationally

The North Carolina women's tennis team is ranked No. 3 in the ITA Division I Women's National Team Rankings, released on Tuesday.
Jamie Loeb continues her reign as the top ranked player in the nation with a 42-2 singles record, and a perfect 11-0 mark in the ACC.
Classmate Hayley Carter moves up one place to sixth in the singles rankings with her 38-6 record, 9-1 against the ACC.
Junior Caroline Price continues to climb up the rankings, coming in at No. 43 this week, up four places from the last rankings that came out two weeks ago. She is 19-3 on the season and 9-1 in the ACC.
In doubles, Loeb and Carter remain No. 3 with their 28-3 overall record, 7-0 in the league.
Whitney Kay and Price are No. 17. They own a 17-5 record and a 6-2 mark in the ACC.
Laura Slater and Kate Vialle remain inside the rankings at No. 46 despite not playing together in nearly a month.
North Carolina (21-3, 10-1 ACC) enters the weekend tied with Duke for first place in the ACC, however, the Blue Devils own the tiebreaker over the Tar Heels with the head-to-head victory on March in Durham.
Clemson and Virginia are tied for third at 9-1 in the league. Carolina plays at Clemson on April 19 in the regular-season finale. Meanwhile, the Tar Heels beat Virginia, 5-2, on March 8.
Carolina hosts Maryland on Sunday at 2 p.m.
